The McHenry County Board of Review has completed the assessment appeals for 2025. The current posted assessments reflect final 2025 assessments through the Board of Review level.
The McHenry County Board of Review final decisions will be mailed March 6, 2026. Property owners that do not agree with the decision are given 30 days to appeal the Board of Review decision to the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. If you choose to appeal the Board of Review decision, the 30-day appeal period begins with the date on the notice.
The County Clerk will now begin to calculate tax rates based on final 2025 Equalized Assessed Values and taxing authorities' levies (requests for spending) that have been submitted. This information will then be provided to the McHenry County Collector, and the 2025 tax bills, which are payable in 2026, will be calculated.
